Wash Day| Week 10 & 11

This week I have skipped washing my hair as I have box braids installed. This account is my last week's wash day.

[1] sectioned hair in 4, and applied coconut oil as my pre poo. 45 minutes with a heat cap

[2] I DC with ORS Replenishing added rosemary oil, peppermint oil. Used a heat cap for 45 mins

[3] Shampooed my hair with my shampoo bar, Nettle and Marshmellow shampoo bar, I lathered it between my hands and shampooed.

[4] Final rinsed with aloe vera Juice, lemon and water

[5] t-shirt dried my hair for 45 mins.

After my wash day I had flakes or some kind of build up, oh, I was mad. Went back into the shower to rinsed out my hair and co washed. Clearly the all natural shampoo bars couldn't remove the build up I had in my hair
:(

For the rest if the weekend I had a twist out

I now have box braids ready for my upcoming vacation! They took me 6 hours over 2 days, 3 hours each day. Love them.

Wash Day | 9 weeks post

This week was an interesting wash day. Tried 2 new products which worked brilliantly! So this is how my wash day went:

[1] Section my hair in 4 and applied coconut oil, you know the warmer season is here when you have liquid coconut oil. I used a heat cap for 45 minutes with a heated cloth.

[2] Shampooed my hair with an all-natural shampoo bar! It is the Funky Soap Shop - Nettle and Marshmallow root shampoo bar. It texture is much gooey and softer than a normal soap bar, and it doesn’t lather up as well, but can I tell you once it was lathered and in my hair oh lawd! The moisturising effect and bye bye difficult to handle new growth, the Instruction say to let it sit for 10 mins, after 10 mins I rinsed it out and I really could have skipped my DC, but let’s not get carried away right! Will need to use it a few more times. (More detailed review to follow)

[3] DC with Aunt Jackie’s Anti Poof DC overnight, was going to rinse it out the say day, but fell asleep and no way was I going to be doing wash day at midnight

[4] Rinsed conditioner

[5] Using 1 part aloe vera juice and 2 parts water and 2 tb lemon, I sprayed over my hair and left it to drip and then t-shirt dried my hair for 45mins. Question for aloe vera rinse ladies, do you just spritz a bit or drench your hair like during tea rinse procedure? Or is it something in between?

[6] Tried to roller set my hair with bands at the roots, but the bands I got were pulling at my hair, so opted for flexirod, but before I get to my results, the aloe vera lemon final rinse, wow wow, my hair was on another planet this wash day, honestly like why have I never tried this rinse before, I didn’t need any leave in or any butter moisturiser, all I did was seal my hair with grapeseed oil (seal in all the goodness) and carried on with my flexriod.

After my flexirods were out, boy I was feeling myself a million bucks after tax!!

Was feeling so good even made some drop
donuts

They were yummy, I digress. Keeping up with this weeks bun theme, my week PS was a bun with flat 2 strand twists in the front

Wash Day| 8 Weeks Post

This week's wash day was very simple but took a long time. My thirsty hair issues appear to be behind me, for good, I hope. I DCed my hair twice this week due to thirsty hair, I will document my Sunday wash day, as my Wednesday wash was DC on dry hair and rinsed out, then air drying (simple). So Sunday wash day went like this:

[1] Sectioned hair in 4, applied coconut oil to each section, and detangled the section and prepooed for hours. As I started doing my wash day on Sunday morning before church I #duku it up and was on my way to church (all down to poor time management)

[2] Applied Aunt Jackie’s DC on dry hair and used a heat cap and heated towel for 45 mins.

[3] Rinsed out my hair with cool water

[4] T-shirt dried my hair for 30 mins. Applied Aussie Hair Miracle Insurance leave in conditioner and twisted hair in 4 sections after detangling and applied Herbal Essence Split End control leave in conditioner to my ends.

[5] I tied down a silk scarf to my edges and left my hair to air dry for the rest of the day

[6] Installed 2 roll and tucks for the week.

My hair has been feeling hydrated this week, I only sprayed it once with a mixture of glycerine and HEHH conditioner and water.

How was your wash day?

Wash Day| 7 weeks post

This week's wash day was very similar to last week, only change were the products I was using

[1] sectioned hair in 4, Sprayed sections of hair with Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave in Conditioner and finger detangled each section.

[2] Applied coconut oil to each detangled section and prepooed overnight

[3] Shampooed my hair with L’Oreal EverSleek Sulphate Free Shampoo diluted with walnut oil, peppermint essential oil and water.

[4] T-shirt dried my hair and applied Aunt Jackie’s deep conditioner. Used a heat cap for 3 hours

[5] after I finished watching the Hobbit, 3 hours later, rinsed out my hair and t-shirt dried my hair for 45 mins.

[6] Applied Elasta QP Mango and Butter leave in conditioner and Aussie Hair Miracle Insurance leave in conditioner. Detangled with a wide tooth comb

[7] Moisturised with ORS Carrot oil then twisted my hair in 6 sections and left my hair to air dry. This was an attempt at heat less curls. The next day my twist out felt great and I thought it looked great too, but can I tell you no photo was doing it justice, and my camera man has been busy revising.
