Hair entry

Yeah me finally moving into my new flat in Saturday, can't wait to settle in an get my hair regime back!

I have a few plans up till I get my relaxer on the 14th June, this will make the end of a 12 week stretch (3 months). My new growth has not been too bad,  but I can't wait for my hair to look relaxer again.

The things I would like to do before my relaxer

1. Wash day and DC this Sunday
2. Co wash mid week on the Wednesday. And DC
3. I would like to try amla or any other India clay product. I know this breaks my not buying products in May :/
4. I have decided to make it easier for me to do my hair I will prepoo with my DC therefore I don't need to step in and out the shower :)

9 weeks post relaxer and 3 more weeks till my relaxer/telax and using my flat iron first time in 6 month that will be :) yeah me. Will dust my ends and have a length check.

Happy hair growing ladies

9 weeks post - quick wash day

As I am between flats it has been difficult for me to have a co wash day as wanted last week.

This week I had a quick wash day.

1. Prepooed with herbal essence hello hydration on my length and JBCO on my scalp.

2. I sat with the product on my hair for an hour with my silver conditioning cap.

3. I detangled my hair before washing it. The conditioner has a really great slip and made my hair so soft

4. I washed the prepoo off and washed with my tresemme low sulphate shampoo twice in 3 sections. Just washing at the roots

5. I then applied my aunt's kerapro intense repair mask for 10 mins.

6 I washed off the mask and towel dried my hair.

7. I then bunned it and left it to air dry all afternoon.

8. Finally in sections of 4 I moisturised with olive oil moisturiser and sealed with JBCO

I must say my hair was so manageable and felt so fluffy and soft. This is the best condition my hair has been, now am not sure if its coz of my vinegar rinse last week or the herbal essence prepoo, or the kerapro conditioner!!! I will have to investigate and find out!

My hair is light and soft and 'flies with the wind' :)

8 weeks post - no co washing

My plan this week was to co wash my hair but alas, I am staying at a very low pressure water area! I am not even going to start that task.

So plan is to wash my hair full routine on Saturday or Sunday. My hair feels really moisturised or 'soft' so my plan is to have a protein conditioner wash day.

I am brainstorming on protective hair styles, might go wig shopping soon.

Braids are out - hello DC

I had my braids just under a month in my hair. They were self done so am really proud of myself. As am starting a new job next week thought fresh look and take advantage of the time I have.

The process today:

1. Removed my braids and put them in twist sections. I was spraying my homemade moisturiser to make detangling easier.

2. After I detangled the twisted sections I had. This was easy breezy, for the first time ever I have been really good with taking care of my hair while in braids and I really didn't lose a lot of hair as I usually do.

3. I proceeded to wash my hair with ORS Aloe Shampoo that had been diluted and had a bit of conditioner added to it. My aim was to clarify my hair. I haven't clarified since my hair journey started in January.

4. After my shampoo I sprayed my ACV rinse on my hair. To make this I used cider vinegar 4 tablespoon and a few drops of peppermint essential oil and filled up the spray bottle with water.

5. I let the rinse drip off my hair and removed excess water then added my DC on top. My deep conditioner was ORS hair mayonnaise with coconut oil and Argan oil and a little bit of sweet almond oil.

6. I left the DC to sit on my hair for an hour and washed it off with cool water. This time round I deep conditioned with a conditioning cap, a head scarf and a few plastic shower caps, I could really feel my hair heating up in there. So am going to get more conditioning caps, not ready to spend over £100 on a steamer just yet.

7. After washing off my conditioner and ACV rinse I wrapped a towel on my head for 30 minutes and sprayed my homemade moisturiser, and proceeded to detangle my hair with a wide tooth comb.
Oh my!!! The tangles in my hair my my, this journey just got real! It's a combination of having been in box braids, 7 weeks post and I didn't shampoo in 4 braided sections!! Never again, 4 section braided make a huge difference.

8. I left it out to air dry. I moisturised and sealed my hair with ORS carrot oil and sealed with argan oil and coconut oil, and put 6 Bantu knots and got my silk bonnet and headed to bed.

9. Tada, results if my wash day below. Super pleased, first Bantu knot out. My hair was still slightly damp but loved the results. Next time will try it in dry hair.

Will my new goals, I will be performing a co wash on Wednesday. Also have no thought on the ACV rinse, apart from more tangles I can't say I noticed anything different with my hair. :/ might do it for a month period to see the difference if anything.

Happy Hair journey!

A broken goal

Today is the first day of May, and I have already broken one if my goals already for the month!!

I went into my local asda and found walnut oil on sale, for £1.06 I just had to get it. I plan on using it with my deep conditioners and in my shampoo.
