Am currently 11 weeks post and aiming for a 13 week stretch. My new growth has really set in, have more new growth at the back and crown of my hair.
This was my first time using ginger tea rinse, last week I did a coffee rinse and I really didn’t like it, the coffee smell lingered on for so long. Ginger tea was gentle on my hair and will definitely use it going forward, I didn't have the drying feel i get witg black tea, my hair was soft and fluffy, did my hair feel moisturised....well more moisturised than when I use black tea, however, my DC is loaded with so many oils, so will have to make a review of this after a couple of day.
My hair was in need of a protein treatment this week, it was close to having a moisture overload, thus this wash day has restored my hair protein and moisture balance. Might do a moisturising DC mid week and protein again at 12 weeks post in time from my relaxer at 13 weeks post.
Happy Hair Journeys Ladies and Gents! :-)

I love that protective style! I may need you to come across the pond and hook me up with a style!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks LaShanda! I love your 'across the pond' comment! Thought might get a head start for autumn!
DeleteLove the style! Also interesting that you used ginger tea, that sounds like a cool idea x
ReplyDeleteThis was my first wash day with ginger herbal tea, thought it was good, need to try it again.
DeleteCute protective style! Is the back just a 'tuck and roll'?

Thanks Neisha! Yes the back is just a tuck and roll :)
DeleteI love this update. Ginger tea sounds like a good idea. I also use ORS Carrot oil to moisturize and extra virgin olive oil to seal. The carrot oil seems to not go a long way considering the price. I however love the smell and feel of my hair after applying the oil. I may have to change to something more affordable. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteI am a lover of ORS carrot oil too, I seal mine with coconut oil most times. My moisturiser is coming to an end but it did last quite a while but am going to try Elasta QP mango and olive butter. Think it's the same price as ORS or slightly cheap. I like the results so far! On ginger tea, it was really general with my hair so really like it, and the properties of ginger on hair seem amazing, however my shedding is slightly more than with black tea.... trade offs I guess. Thanks for your comment and let me know if you try a new moisturiser!
DeleteI don't think I have ever heard of people using ginger tea and I have a ton of it at home...*makes note to self, try ginger tea rinse
ReplyDeleteTotally random thought of the day: I love that quote by Dr. Seuss. That was DEEP!
I got tea rinse happy, the ginger herbal tea I have seem to have so many other leaves in it, will see how it works, thought it wouldn't hurt as ginger is suppose to have some great properties!
DeleteDr Seuss is really deep indeed! love these random sayings!
Let me know how the ginger tea rinse works for you!
