I was not planning on washing my hair mid-week, my last touch up
was on Saturday. The reason for this wash is because my hair is dry and crunchy;
the reason for this is due to the mineral oil products I used all other my hair
during my relaxer day to prevent relaxer overlapping.
Mineral containing products have an important role in my hair
journey, during my relaxer days.
To remove the build-up that these products have left my hair with
this is what I did.
[1] Sectioned hair in 2 to get ready for shampooing.
[2] Shampooed hair with HEHH Shampoo mixed with walnut oil and diluted
(contains sulphate),
[3] Followed up with Elasta QP crème and conditioning shampoo
diluted with walnut oil.
[4] Let hair to drip for 2
mins and squeezed off excess water
[5] DC hair with Aunt Jackie’s Anti Poof Softening and
Moisturising Conditioner, used heat cap for 7 mins
[6] Rinsed out conditioner and t-shirt dried hair for 20 mins.
[7] Sprayed Aussie Hair Miracle Insurance Leave in and coconut oil
to each section and blow dried on cool.
[8] Bunned hair for the rest of the day, planning on M&S with
ORS Carrot Oil and a serum. (L = leave in O = coconut C = Carrot oil O=serum
method)
My hair was soft and the product build-up was gone.
This weekend’s wash day will focus on maintaining moisture.
How was your wash day?

I hear of so many people sectioning their hair for shampooing!
ReplyDeleteReally need to get on this.
My last wash day was disappointing though I have to say, I tried a new DC mix and it was very 'meh'

Hi Chantelle thanks for the support, am a fan of your blog!
DeleteI always wash my hair in sections now, I find it makes detangling so much easier.
I always get disappointment when I try something that I was so sure would be a hit and then the results are just blah!
Ugh...that after relaxer crunchy feel! I'm glad that you were able to get rid of it with a little clarifying!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your #washdayexperience chica!

My hair was really calling for a clarifying shampoo. I was really heavy handed with the mineral product all over my relaxed hair.
DeleteThanks for hosting KLP!
What are your thoughts so far on the Aunt Jackie's DC? Its awesome your hair did a 360 degree turn around.
ReplyDeleteI really love Aunt Jackie's my hair has been moistured so well, I have not added anything else except my leave in and coconut oil since was day. I think it is a real keeper and its so cheaper! The smell is intense though. I actually got it when I read your wash day experince with it!
Delete"Dry and crunchy?" You are speaking my language, girl! Check out my post and you will see what I mean!
ReplyDeleteHehe, we are definitely speaking the same language! Am happy we both got rid of the dryness!!!
DeleteDo you relax your hair yourself? I'm trying to remember if my hair ever feels dry or crunchy after a relaxer. Maybe dry but not so much with crunchy.
ReplyDeleteHi Southern Girl. Yes I always relax my hair by myself. my relaxer methods have improved since in journey, don't think i could trust anyone without my guidance with my relaxer.
DeleteMy hair was crunchy because of the amount of mineral contains product I applied to my already relaxed hair, and I just need a clarifying shampoo, now its all back to normal. I was really heavy handed with the product, trying to maintain the thickness of my hair.
I'm glad you were able to sort the build up.
