Hair | New style - Braids are out

Goodbye braids. As I was removing my braids over the weekend, I was so disappointed to see the major breakage in the middle section of my hair.

This has been mostly due to poor hair styling during my wedding period. The salons I was using knew nothing of good hair care and yes, I could have stopped them, so I do take the blame fully.

As you can see the difference between my undamaged hair and damaged hair.

So I detangled my hair and grabbed hold of the scissors

Am fully texlaxed, and 11 weeks post telaxer. My touch up is suppose to be next week, but...... I will try transition.....

However, am not holding myself ransom should I decide to change my mind.

Cookbook | Homemade Cream of Broccoli & Cauliflower Soup

This week's soup is Cream of Broccoli & Cauliflower

A whole onion diced
A floret of broccoli
A floret of Cauliflower
2 vegetable stock cubes
1 litre of water
Salt & pepper
Garlic
Ginger
Zeal

Method:

1. Chopped the onions and using some sunflower oil I browned the onion, ginger and garlic.

Then I added the  vegetables and left them to cook with the lid on for about 15 mins, by then the vegs were tender.

I then added some salt and pepper and zeal.

I then added the stock to 1 litre of boiling water and added it to the soup, and left it to boil for 10 mins.

To finish it off I removed the stock from the vegetables and blended just the vegs, using a blender. Then I mixed the blended veg with the stock and returned it to the hob for 2 minutes to mix well. At this point I added some creme fraiche to be the 'cream' in 'cream of broccoli and cauliflower soup'!

The finished product, enjoy with a bun or croutons !

Hair | Braid Style

This weeks braid style is the side braid.

The trick to this style is to sweep it to one side and grab your braids from both sides (the left end together with right side)

To finish it off used hair pins and black hair ties towards the ends.

Cookbook | Homemade Vegetable Soup

In the spirit of healthy eating, I have decided to make my own soup for lunch.

For this week's edition I made vegetable soups using:

A whole onion diced
5 spring onions
Mushrooms
2 courgettes
3 carrots
1 parsnip
1 Swede
7 new baby potatoes
2 vegetable cubes
1 litre of water
1 herb stock
Salt & pepper
Zeal

Looking at the list, It does sound a bit over the top, however I was never planning on using the spring onion, mushrooms or potatoes, these were just extra vegetable I had in stock.

Method:

1. Chopped all the vegetables in small cubes and using some sunflower oil I browned the mushrooms and onions.

Then I added the other vegetables and left them to cook with the lid on for about 10 mins, by then the vegs were tender.

I then added some salt and pepper and zeal which is a spice that just enhances the flavour of all food.

The finished product, enjoy with a bun, croutons or creme fraiche!

Wash Day | Braids Edition

The Wash Day Experience

I have been in twists for the last month. I am enjoying the low maintenance of them.

I am currently washing them once every 2 weeks, and moisturise in between, but not enough.

My wash day was relatively simple:

1. Shampoo with Creme of Argan Shampoo

2. Condition with Herbal Essence Honey Conditioner

3. Towel dried my hair for 1 hour

4. Left it to air dry for the rest of the day

5. M&S with Olive Oil moisturising cream

6. Fixed my hair line with some gel and wrapped my hair for the night.

That was pretty much it.
