Relaxer day

This relaxer day was an emotional day for me, my hair did not look or feel how I thought it did.

In my head my hair is healthy and growing, but after my relaxer and my first flat iron in 6 months I was not happy with my thin ends, the brittleness of my hair,  my hair was/is breaking and badly at that! now I know my hair is lacking moisture! Also looking at my ends am really wanting to cut them all off, I recouped myself M&Sed in the morning and high bunned my hair. My plan of action is simple to get my hair to a good state

1. Deep condition twice a week at least 15 mins heat cap treatment
2. Prepoo with an oil
3. Use moisture based conditioners and shampoos
4. Moisturise and seal every other day!
5 No direct heat, pass only on relaxer days
6. Use my hair spritz every day
7 bunning, bunning, bunning and wearing an instant weave

I will not be trimming my ends at the moment because I don't think I have split end just thin ends and will start cutting an inch off every month until I get fuller ends

Any suggestions?

12 weeks post

I have finally reached it 12 weeks post! I was going to relax my hair next week at 13 weeks post a round 3 months figure but I have decided you know what I have been super good so far 12 weeks should be a good enough mark!

So my plan is to relax my hair at home on Thursday (or the weekend), will document what I do during my relaxer and will be length checking my hair as well, my last length check had me at APL, am hoping for a full APL length and health ends.  I am also due for a mini trim/dusting.

Learning posts from the past stretch

1.  DC always, even twice weekly (though I never attempted it once)
2. Tea rinses were really good for shedding, further down in my stretch, I noticed more hair shedding, I need to keep on with the tea rinse, or try coffee rinses.
3. M&S more often!
4. Break my stretch with a new hair style like I did with my box braids.

I am planning to stretch for 4 months this time around, that will be 16 to 17 weeks post relaxer, but will see with how my hair feels, also I plan on using Paul Mitchell’s super skinny treatment, as the whole world raves about it.

Till my relaxer, hhj folks

Review of May goals, setting June goals

We are coming to the end of the month, and here is a quick review of the goals in the month!

1. Drink a litre of water a day – I believe I was better than last month, but I definitely did not drink a litre each day. I think this month I will make sure I drink a litre in the morning so that I am set for the day, and anymore water I drink is an addition, so hello 6.30 wake ups!

2. Co washing – I completely failed on this goal, I did not co-wash once....next month I will have to have this in again but it will be to try a co-wash in the month, I need to see if I will like it!

3.Try vinegar rinse – I tried it out very early in the month, I did not notice any difference after I had done it but a few days later, my hair was sooooo soft and flowy!! I can only put it down to the vinegar rinse. I will probably do it once a month, when I feel my hair needs it.

4. Avoid buy products – Well, you would have know from my earlier postings that I failed on this so early on by buying the walnut oil, and bought Aussie Conditioner, which I am so happy that I did, new favourite

.....so this month

1.        1 litre of water a day

2.        Try out a flex rod set

3.        Weekly DC

4.        M&S twice a week

Hope your May goals were better done than mine!

10 weeks post - hello deep conditioning

I am currently 10 weeks post relaxer, I have my hair in a bun most of the time and haven't even had the desire to leave it loose.

I have a few more weeks till my relaxer, I am planning on relaxing at 13 weeks post. Next relaxer planning on 26 weeks post, with the help of weaves and wigs am hoping.

My hair has been feeling really soft of late, so am happy, haven't really been M&S as much as I would like but I hope the once a week I do is enough for my hair.

Today I plan to DC with my silver conditioning cap and used the Aussie deep conditioner, oh my gosh I am sold! This made my hair feel soooooo soft. Only issue is the bottles don't go a long way, but my hair loves loves loves it. So am going to use it on a regular :)
