Wash day | 6 Weeks Post

This week's wash day was all about moisture

[1] sectioned hair in 4, Sprayed sections of hair with Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave in Conditioner and finger detangled each section. Love how this worked last week

[2] Applied coconut oil to each detangled section and used heat for 30 mins

[3] Shampooed my hair with Elasta QP creme and conditioning Shampoo diluted with walnut oil and water.

[4] T-shirt dried my hair and applied Vatika deep conditioner. Used ‘steamer’/ heat treated my hair for 45 mins

[5] rinsed out my hair and t-shirt dried my hair for 45 mins.

[6] Applied Elasta QP Mango and Butter leave in conditioner and Aussie Hair Miracle Insurance leave in conditioner. Detangled with a wide tooth comb

[7] Moisturised with ORS Carrot oil when hair was dry and try installing a crown braid with extensions, massive fail failure, used black extension and the overall look was bad, so went with a simple ends hidden away with a bobby pin look. 2 days later hair was dry :o| am more than frustrated, diluted some glycerine and HEHH Conditioner and some water in a spray bottle and that has keep my hair super moisturised till today  (2 days later). My hair is super puffy and textured, but at least it’s moisturised!

How was your wash day?

  1. I'd love to see the back of that updo. It seems like a great way to hide uncooperative hair!

Thanks for sharing your #washdayexperience chica. Next week, you'll get your moisture/protein balance back for sure!

    1. That wasn't even the style, I was air drying it in 4 twists, but the thickness made me smile! Woop woop to protein/moisture balance!

Thanks for hosting the wash day KLP!

  2. The watered down conditioner in a spray bottle has helped me win the dryness battle with my hair, too! Especially once I added aloe vera juice in the mix. It's annoying on one hand because you basically have to rewet your hair to moisturize it. But I agree with you - I'd rather have the big, textured hair than to have dry hair.

And don't feel bad about the crown braid fail. I've been failing at that repeatedly lately for some reason! Lol

    1. Thanks Tomes. Crown braids look similar but are totally the opposite.

    1. I use to like it when I started my journey, now my hair doesn't have much love for it, I have added some glycerine to it to help with my DC, but it's just not liking me atm, let me know how you find it.

    2. I used it this weekend without any addons (oil, honey etc).
My NG was crunchy after rinsing but the rest of my hair was soft and airy. I also didnt use my steamer. Next wash day i'll Doctor it a bit and steam to see if my NG likes it
