Wash Day - 12 weeks post - week before relaxer

This is the last wash day of the month so I will be clarifying my hair for the start of September. Also my relaxer day is next week, so preparations have to begin, this was done on Sunday.
1.     Prepooed hair in 4 sections with grape-seed oil on length and scalp for 1 hour
2.    Detangled each section of my hair
3.    Shampooed hair with ORS Aloe Shampoo, twice
4.    Tea rinsed with ginger tea
5.    Applied Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Daily Treatment for 5 mins and rinsed
6.    T-shirt dried hair for 10 mins
7.    Applied DC to hair, ORS Hair Mayonnaise, for 2 hours a heat cap and my cotton shower cap
8.    Detangled hair
9.    Rinsed out conditioner
10. T-shirt dried my hair for 1 hour
11.  Used Herbal Essence Split End Leave in Conditioner
12.  Detangled hair in sections and applied almond oil
13.  Air dried hair in bun and silk scarf
Am currently 12 weeks post, next week is my relaxer day at 13 weeks post, this wash day was all about detangling and protein to get myself ready for my relaxer day. I have run out of Aussie Hair Insurance Leave in Conditioner and all the shops seem to be out of stock! I mean everywhere I go it’s just not there!! :( So I got the Herbal Essence split end leave in conditioner (think I got the name wrong) it’s a creamy texture, like it so far. It like my Aussie leave in, it has silicones, my hair feels moisturised enough, I would not go any further with my stretch though need to avoid any setbacks at this stage.
Looking forward to my relaxer day, just to keep the puffy hair at bay for a while! This stretch has been easy breezy, I have had tangles at the back of my hair and crown but nothing too major that my detangler (Aussie Hair Miracle Insurance leave in conditioner) could not handle, I would stretch to the end of September, but I do not want to jinx it so far in my stretch will leave longer stretches to future me!
How is your stretch going?

  1. I was wondering how come you were detangling so much but I'm sure you gonna have an easy breezy relaxer day. Looking forward to your results!

  2. yes I thought i might as well detangle as much as I can as I didn't want to use any heat tools! Am excited about my relaxer day!

    1. ginger stimulating properties, it increases the blood circulation to the scalp which can result in faster-growing hair, the thing am still research is the shedding aspects of it, as am sure it has no caffeine. I definitely have more shedding than than I hard when using black tea but from zero shedding to 3 -5 a day, I could live with that. Will see how it compares to the other teas. Guinea pig time!!

  4. Funny we almost have a similar regimen. What you did to your on Sunday will be what I will do to my hair this Wednesday before the Saturday touch up. I'm however 18 weeks post (ouch). I'm also experiencing quite a bit of shedding but I have not done a tea rinse in a while so I guess that is the root of my problem. All the best on your relaxer day!

    1. Wow 18 weeks post!! You must be dying for the relaxer! I guess because you have been in braids for a while your shedding will increase. Hope it's not too much shedding!

Good luck with your relaxer day too, we really are on the same cycle!

  5. I'm a big fan of Herbal Essences Touchably Smooth Split End Protector! I hope that it works well for you too! Congrats for making it this far. I know that you are sooo ready to relax!

    1. It worked really well on my wash day, I have never used a creamy leave in so was curious! But think it works great so far!
I am so ready for my relaxer, Saturday couldn't come any quicker, but really proud of getting this far without any major set backs or permanent protective styles, really did bond with my hair! ;)
